Yahoo Bing Network – Google Mirrored
The almighty search network has set a descendant trend while its tinny opponent an ascendant trend.
Google is the giant, right? So it would have seemed normal to make it Google – Yahoo Bing Network, not the other way around. And still, we placed Google second because it kept going down.
The news is still hot as in the latest report published by Search Agency’s State of Paid Search, targeting the 3rd quarter. For this time frame of 2012, Google reached a newrecord only that it is a negative one: dropped in share up to 78.7%, as opposed to Yahoo Bing Network click share, that reached a not so shy 21.3%.
Yes, there is still a huge difference, but the main point is that the almighty search network has set a descendant trend while its tinny opponent an ascendant trend. Take the chart above made public by the Search Agency.
The report specifies that “Across all search engines, Q3 2012 click traffic increased 27% YoY. Q3 shows little growth over Q2 with a modest 2.5% increase in click traffic.” We cannot tell for a fact that the amount of paid clicks has increased, but we do know that the segment of paid search has increased.
We shall now summarize several specific findings of the report that can make a difference in the future of internet marketing:
- Yahoo Bing Network registered a growth of 9.6% in the previous quarter, which is expected to attract more interest from advertisers
- Google, even though it still owns the supremacy, only grew with 0.7%
- An evaluation targeting all the search engines revealed that the click traffic progress registered from one year to another was of 27%
- This 3rd quarter revealed a significant trend of mobile search not only for services and goods, but also for entertainment
- Traffic driven through tablets skyrocketed with 339%
- Traffic driven through smartphones increased with 105% in terms of clicks
Drawing the line after the second quarter, Google was said to continue performing very well, particularly after closing the deal with Motorola, which registered approximately 1.3 billion dollars revenues. This would have indicated however that Google alone only increased revenues with 3%.
Some claim that progress must be reported to the times and the economy we live in, and given the crisis we are all still facing, 3% is much. To others it was little back then and the search engine proved that skeptical people were right given these last results.
Needles to insist on this aspect, people go for whatever search engine find most convenient, only that internet marketers do the same. Depending on the stat of the websites they try to promote, some find Bing and Yahoo a better alternative to Google and its Penguin respectively Panda updates.
The only thing left for now is to simply wait for the end of the year and look into the 4th’s quarter results. In the meantime, think of if why and how these reports influence your decision for further online business presence development.
